Engineer­­,­­ natural scientist or similar (f­­/­­m­­/­­x) - Communications engineering

In this exciting project, you will design and optimize advanced communication topologies - from point-to-point radio links to complex mesh networks - to create a next-generation multi-sensor network. You will also take responsibility for the IT infrastructure, integrating servers into the network and configuring systems. Together with project partners and stakeholders, you will test your solutions in real-world field trials and technology demonstrations. You will also share your findings with the international research community through publications and conference presentations. Research and development of physical communication topologies (e.g., point-to-point radio links, mesh networks) in a multi-sensor network (optical, sonar, DAS, AIS, etc.) The research focuses on the optimization and resilience (e.g. Jamming) of the network while addressing the varying requirements of different sensor types Configuration and administration of the network, including installation and operation of servers Execution, evaluation, and analysis of field experiments and technology demonstrations, including collaboration with stakeholders to validate and optimize the network Acting as a system/​software engineer for the integration of individual sensors, in close cooperation with and support of various research teams Publication of research results in scientific journals and presentation at conferences
